LG Innotek, an electronic component manufacturing unit under LG Group, said Tuesday it unveiled cutting-edge technologies for autonomous driving cars and 5G telecommunications at the CES 2024 in Las Vegas on Monday.
The company carried out a pre-booth tour and introduced three zones in the exhibition booth -- mobility, artificial intelligence and future pathway -- prior to the official unveiling.
In the main mobility zone, the company displayed a mock-up of a self-driving car installed with 18 components driven by LG tech.
Key auto components from LG include camera modules for an advanced driver assistance system, DC-DC converters, light detection and ranging (lidar), a second-generation electric vehicle communication controller, an 800-volt wireless battery management system and an LED module product called Nexlide.
LG Innotek introduced hardware components of 5G in the AI zone such as antenna-in-package, radio frequency system-in-package (RF-SiP) -- packaging platform for wireless communication and data access -- and flip chip ball grid array (FC-BGA) that uses controlled collapse chip connection to improve electrical performance.
The future pathway zone provides content on the company’s camera module technologies beyond mobile applications -- autonomous driving, robotics and urban air mobility.
“Based on the highly scalable value-added technologies, LG Innotek will expand footing in global markets through the CES 2024, showing that it’s a leading company in innovative mobility and AI sectors,” said LG Innotek CEO Moon Hyuck-soo in a statement.
