PARIS -- South Korea captured its third archery gold medal of the Paris Olympics on Friday, going a perfect 3-for-3 so far with two more medal events remaining in the sport it has long dominated.

A day after getting shut out of medals, South Korea also collected medals in judo and badminton on Friday.

In archery, Kim Woo-jin and Lim Si-hyeon were on target for the gold medal in the mixed team event. They defeated Florian Unruh and Michelle Kroppen of Germany by the set score of 6-0.

South Korea now has seven gold medals overall as the competition enters its second weekend.

Kim and Lim had each helped the men's and women's teams win gold medals earlier at the Paris Olympics. They will now have a shot at winning their third gold medals in the individual events. The women's competition is Saturday, followed by the men's on Sunday.

With his fourth career gold medal, Kim has pulled into a tie with three others for the most Olympic gold medals, summer or winter, by a South Korean athlete.

South Korea earned two medals in judo, one each from the men's and women's heaviest divisions.

Kim Min-jong claimed silver in the men's +100-kilogram event, after losing to the French legend Teddy Riner in the final. Riner has now won a medal at five consecutive Olympic Games, with gold medals in 2012, 2016 and 2024, and bronze medals in 2008 and 2021.

Moments earlier, Kim Ha-yun won bronze in the women's +78kg division by defeating Kayra Ozdemir of Turkiye in one of two bronze medal contests.

Kim lost to Beatriz Souza of Brazil in the quarterfinals to drop to the repechage round. She then beat Larisa Ceric of Bosnia and Herzegovina to give herself one final shot at a medal. Kim capitalized on that chance by beating Ozdemir with a throw followed by a shoulder hold.

In badminton, South Korea picked up its first medal in the mixed doubles since 2008, as Kim Won-ho and Jeong Na-eun grabbed silver.

They lost to Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong of China 2-0 (21-8, 21-11) in the final. This defeat came less than 24 hours after Kim and Jeong had defeated the compatriots, Seo Seung-jae and Chae Yu-jung, in the semifinals.

Seo and Chae couldn't salvage the bronze medal, though, after losing to Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino of Japan 2-0 (21-13, 22-20) on Friday.

Also on Friday, Shin Yu-bin fell to the bronze medal match in the women's singles in table tennis, following her 4-0 (11-7, 11-6, 11-7, 11-7) loss to the defending champion from China, Chen Meng.

Shin will face Hina Hayata of Japan in the bronze medal match Saturday.
